Carry on the Countdown – Christmas events this weekend in Dundee

It’s dark by 3 pm, the shops are choc-a-bloc seven days a week, and German food stalls have popped up on Dundee street corners – Christmas has well and truly arrived in our wee city.

And with the countdown to the big day continuing, here’s a few more things you can do this weekend (December 14-16) to keep up with the festive cheer.

Remember, last week’s content on Christmas activities is still valid until the end of December, so feel free to check it out.

Boomerang Christmas Fayre

This Saturday (December 15) from 10am-2pm, the Boomerang Community Centre are hosting a Christmas Fayre – because Dundee simply cannot have too many.

The fayre will feature plenty of arts and crafts stalls, raffles, a tombola, face painting for the kiddies, ceramic arts, candles, baking, local designers, and so much more.

Dick Whittington Panto

Dundee has plenty of terrific pantomimes to see you through the holiday season.

Why not check out ‘Dick Whittington’ at the Whitehall Theatre this Friday or Saturday/ December 14-15? (both days have afternoon and evening showings).

The production is written and directed by Graeme Neil Smith, and promises all of the eccentric costumes, makeup, songs, special effects, and lovable characters a successful pantomime could offer.

Christmas Craft Fair and Cafe

So. many. Christmas. fairs.

The Christmas Craft Fair and Cafe is happening this Saturday (December 15) at 11 am at Gate Church International.

It will include a variety of high-quality stalls and vendors – from homemade fudge, to candles, to baking, to cards, to knitwear. There will also be a cosy cafe in the centre of the fair, where you can warm up and enjoy a mince pie/coffee.
