Alastair Brodie, known in Dundee by the nickname “Breeks”, passed away on Tuesday night.
The 65-year-old was the owner of Groucho’s record store and sold vinyl records in the city for 43 years.
A legendary Dundee institution, Groucho’s is one of the UK’s most loved and famous independent record stores.
Heaven for vinyl junkies, Alastair opened the store 1976 when he was just 22.

Last year Mr Brodie had announced his plans to retire in August 2019, citing health reasons for the decision.
Tragically, Mr Brodie has passed away at the age of 65.
We want to pay tribute to Mr Brodie for opening one of the UK’s most loved and famous independent record stores in Dundee.
The store has been popular with a number of celebrities including Johnny Marr, formerly of the Smiths, who has described it as one of the top two shops of its kind in the UK.
Your legend and incredible music store will live on in our wee city.
