An amazing new food and drinks festival is coming to Dundee…and this is why you should be excited

An exciting new festival will be landing in Dundee very soon.

North Hop has been on the go since 2014 and is becoming increasingly popular each year. It had its humble beginnings in the Highlands and the north-east as a small craft beer festival in locations like Aberdeen and Inverness.  Now, organisers are turning their attentions to Dundee with The Spirit of the North Hop festival.

The new event will include a cool cocktail of pop-up bar experiences, distillers, cocktail-makers, craft brewers, street-food vendors, live music and DJ’s.

The event will be short and sweet, taking place all in one day at the Apex Hotel – but it promises to be one to remember!

Foodies and drinks enthusiasts will get a chance to meet the faces behind their favourite beverages, meeting distillers and sampling products.

There will be many delicious drinks to sample at the Hop.

The festival will boast a variety of gins, whiskies, vodkas, rums, liqueurs,  and even eau de vie and aqua vitae. Expect about 20 of the distilleries that you know and love plus some newer faces such as St Andrews Gin Co, Kingsbarns Distillery, Lindores Abbey, Sweetdram and Never 25.

Dundee’s own 71 Brewing will create a special drink just for the occasion.

Dundee city-centre bar and restaurant, Bird & Bear, will kick things off with their warm-up events before later winding things down with an after-party.

The folk in charge of The Spirit of North Hop want you to know that this isn’t just another gin festival, there will also be a whole host of  hand-selected street food vendors from Japanese to Mexican, a bit of Mediterranean grub and plenty to please veggie and vegan foodies too.

North Hop will also include great street-food vendors from around Scotland.

And like any good festival, you’ve got to have music.

That’s why The Spirit of North Hop Dundee has tapped into local music talent, bringing together some of the city’s best musicians and DJ’s for the day’s entertainment.

Dundee’s local music talent will provide great entertainment at this year’s fest.

Most of the festical’s events will take place in a purpose-built marquee at Apex City Quay Hotel over two ticketed sessions.

Dates: November 24
