“Britain’s coolest city” — How Dundee gained fans across the world even before V&A Dundee opened

We have chosen to capture Dundee in a single phrase: “a cool city with a warm heart”.
And we are not alone in thinking so. Below is a list of publications that seem to share this sentiment.
GQ
This trendy mag has named our bonnie wee Dundee as “Britain’s coolest little city”.
The article focuses on the city’s more artsy side, commending V&A Dundee and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design.

Duncan of Jordanstone is one of the top art schools in Europe.
The flattering write-up also mentions our foodie side, recognising the rise in quality cuisine that we now have.

Mouthwatering food is available in restaurants like 172 The Caird, Dundee.
The Wall Street Journal

City Square, Dundee
Another high-profile publication, this time The Wall Street Journal, has also ranked Dundee highly on their list of cool cities.
We made it to the number 5 spot on a list of ‘hot cities’ which included the likes of Shanghai, Faroe Islands and Montenegro.
In the article, WSJ said “Dundee has emerged as Scotland’s coolest city”.

As if we weren’t getting big enough rosy cheeks, Lonely Planet, a top travel publisher, put us on their list of best European places. What’s more, we were the only UK city to make it!
This time we were given props for our “growing cultural scene”.
The website said this about us:
“Dundee enjoys perhaps the finest location of any Scottish city…and the Dundonians themselves – among the friendliest, most welcoming and entertaining people you’ll meet – and Dundee is definitely worth a stopover”.
Well, we won’t argue with that!
Bloomberg
We made it on yet another “top” list.
This time, Bloomberg’s “Where to go in 2018” article placed Dundee at number 6 in a list of 22.
The focus was on the V&A and the rest of the waterfront regeneration project that has everyone talking about us.

Discovery Point visitor’s centre and V&A Dundee coming soon.
