Street Names of Old Dundee: this brand new book explains how Dundee’s key streets got their name

Ever wondered why we have a Reform Street?

Or questioned why there is a Flight’s Lane in Lochee?

You can find the answers to these and many more questions in an interesting new book, written by Gillian Molloy of the Friends of Dundee City Archives (FDCA).

Gillian will be launching her book with a free talk (May 25) to explain how some of Dundee’s key streets got their name and also tell you about the streets which are now long gone.

There will also be an opportunity to buy the new book “Street Names of Dundee” – a must for anyone interested in the history of Dundee.

The talk will take place in the Glasite Hall on King Street. It’s free entry and everyone is welcome – you don’t need to be a member of the friends.

We hope to see you there.
