The V&A Dundee is up for yet another smashing award

V&A Dundee… another day, another accolade.

The museum is appealing for votes after reaching the finals of the 25th Birthday National Lottery Awards – the annual prestigious hunt for the UK’s favourite National Lottery-funded projects.

The centre has beat off stiff competition from more than 700 organisations to reach the public voting stage in this year’s awards, which celebrate the inspirational people and projects who have done extraordinary things with the help of National Lottery funding.

As Scotland’s first design museum, V&A Dundee has over £19 million of National Lottery investment.

The world-class centre for design and culture is an architecturally significant building and has seen over half a million visitors in its first six months.

Director Philip Long said:

It is a great honour for V&A Dundee to have reached the finals of the 25th Birthday National Lottery Awards. National Lottery funding gave a substantial boost to the project and we are grateful to everyone who has contributed to making V&A Dundee possible. Winning this award would be a wonderful recognition for the museum, and for Dundee, so we would encourage as many people as possible to vote for us and support our campaign.”
