Broughty Ferry Beach: The place to be on a sunny Dundee day

Gazing across to the golden sands and lush woodland of Tentsmuir Forest, Broughty Beach has a fantastic outlook.

Its own golden sands are jam packed in the summer months, with many picking up an ice cream or snacks from the great local eateries.

A busy day at Broughty Ferry beach.

Shops, cafes, bars, a castle, play parks and restaurants are all nearby and if you’re lucky you may see the playful Tay dolphins frolicking offshore.

The River Tay even has its own dolphins.

How to get there:

Broughty Ferry and its beach lie around five miles east of Dundee city centre.

It’s well served by buses and there’s also a great waterfront cycling route (PDF).

Address: The Esplanade, Dundee DD5 2EN
