Few places in the city are as peaceful or tranquil as Dundee Botanic Gardens.
Its 23 acres stretch along a strip of land between Perth Road and Riverside, and contain flora and fauna from every continent in the world.
Tropical and temperate glasshouses, a water garden, herb garden and pleasant cafe help entice more than 80,000 visitors a year.
Run by Dundee University, it’s committed to education for people of all ages – and it’s just a great place to take a stroll.
One of the highlights is the gardens’ annual Shakespeare in the Park event.
Its visitor centre hosts art exhibitions, while there is also a cafe and gift shop.
